Futuretown's Totalmotion 5D virtual reality platform will bring an enhanced sense of realism to VR games.
The Totalmotion 5d virtual reality platform will introduce an entirely new way to experience virtual reality gaming by taking cues from the player's body to control gameplay and enhancing his or her physical and emotional responses with cutting edge visuals and advanced motion simulators. The platform is designed to interface with HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and other popular virtual reality systems and to support different play styles for standing, seated and riding experiences.
The Totalmotion platform and four supporting games were developed by Futuretown, a company specializing in virtual reality technology and innovative gaming experiences. The company has partnered with Injoy Motion to develop VR motion and sensation simulators and with Redstorm, Formosoft, MitFun and Woojer to create immersive, compelling game experiences for the new platform.
The games announced for Totalmotion – Whiteout: Ski VR, Infinity Rider: Motorcycle VR, Stallion Adventures: Horse Riding VR, and Wave Breaker: Surf VR – will deliver high fidelity visuals which, combined with advanced motion and sensation simulation hardware and VR input devices, will offer a revolutionary VR gaming experience.
Targeted to the arcade market, Whiteout: Ski VR will offer the most authentic VR skiing experience available, allowing players to fly down slopes and feel the bumps of the terrain while steering their bodies to the finish line. Infinity Rider: Motorcycle VR will let them feel the rush of riding down mountain passes, hugging turns, and speeding through stunning landscapes. Wave Breaker: Surf VR will enable them to discover the world's biggest waves, while Stallion Adventures: Horse Riding VR will take them on a galloping tour of the wilds of Africa, where they will cross paths with elephants, giraffes and other wild animals as they discover the incredible sights and sounds of the unique virtual world.
Totalmotion was presented at the 2016 Tokyo Game Show in September and will be released in 2017. Watch the release trailer below for a closer look at the platform.
