Games for Health Game Jam in Pictures

The 3rd Games for Health Game Jam was held in Kupio, Finland, from April 25 to 27. The game development event brought together a number of developers, IT students, nutrition and health experts, and professionals from other fields, to develop new game ideas to promote health and positive lifestyle changes.

Some of the solutions seen at the event included smart shorts, designed to measure muscle activity, hand motion detection games for rehabilitation of CPRS (complex regional pain syndrome), a sports Tamagochi that evolves based on the user's physical activity, and a berry picking game designed for treatment of transient ischemic attack patients.

Game Jam events provide companies with an opportunity to have their products tested and developed for new solutions and applications, while developers get a chance to learn, share their experiences, and sometimes even find new job opportunities.

The event is organised by Games for Health Finland, coordinated by Kuopio Innovation Ltd, and the Health Propeli project, coordinated by the Savonia University of Applied Sciences.
