The Nutrition + Physical Activity Learning Connection Summit aims to generate support for school health and wellness by providing a venue where participants from a wide range of disciplines can meet to find new ways to improve nutrition and physical activity in schools. The attendees will include experts in education, wellness and health, philanthropy, the media, and the not-for-profit sector. Notable leaders at this year's summit will include NFL legend Troy Aikman, Dr. Stephanie Whyte, Chief Health Officer of the Chicago Public Schools, Ellen Goodman of the Palm Springs United School District, and Stephan Turnipseed of LEGO Education.

GENYOUth Foundation will present The Quest for Healthy, High Achieving Schools: GENYOUth Foundation Progress Report 2014 at the event, which provides a detailed insight into the Foundation's milestones and accomplishments in recent years as well as its goals for the future.

Following the Nutrition + Physical Activity Learning Connection Summit, visitors will have a chance to participate in the Fuel Up-Play-Learn EXPO and run football drills with NFL players at the Dallas Cowboys field, run obstacle courses, build dream playgrounds, and meet with professional athletes, experts, leaders, and students. The EXPO will include nutrition demonstrations, LEGO Education interactive activities, and several major announcements.

Dr. David Satcher, U.S. Surgeon General and member of GENYOUth Foundation Board of Directors, said, "The stakes around school wellness are high, as 15 years of mounting research shows that improved nutrition and increased physical activity are correlated with improved academic achievement. GENYOUth Foundation and its flagship program, Fuel Up to Play 60, perform vital work to bring together key stakeholders to spark new ideas and innovative partnerships around childhood health and wellness for the sake of our nation's future."

The Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassador Summit at the University of Texas-Arlington will host students from across the U.S. to educate and inspire them to develop healthy habits. Student leaders will share ideas on leadership, teamwork, and communication to help introduce positive changes in schools. More than 20,000 students across the country serve as Fuel Up to Play 60 Student Ambassadors, leading fellow students to create positive changes in the school environment.

"By hosting this national gathering in the home of the Dallas Cowboys, with the generous support of the Jones family, we are able to elevate the quest for healthy, high achieving students and schools,“ said Alexis Glick, GENYOUth Foundation CEO. “Schools cannot act alone to create a healthier environment—we need more support from everyone, like those who attend the Summit today, to work together to affect change for the wellbeing of our nation's youth."
